Client Services

Client Services

As a client-centered organization, we provide a wide range of services to support your individual needs.

We go a step further to ensure every client has the access to these services by providing transportation to appointments, meetings, educational classes, and more.

Advocacy

  • Building a new life is a slow process and requires more assistance than is first realized. Our case managers helping provide these personal services are compassionate women that you can trust and build relationships with.

  • We are fortunate to serve many communities with interpreters in 10 languages: Arabic, Bengali, Urdu, Hindi, Swahili, Dari/Farsi, Burmese, Turkish, and Rohingya.

  • Each client is screened to provide services catering to their individual needs.

  • Assistance provided for applying to government services such as EBT food stamps.

  • Assistance writing protection orders and legal referrals to outside law agencies.

Counseling

  • A Survivor’s experience in an abusive relationship comes with years, if not a lifetime, of struggles. We are committed to providing emotional support services for our Survivors that may struggle with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, and other emotional distress.

  • One-on-one trauma-informed counseling.

  • We facilitate support groups where women of similar experiences have an opportunity to open up about their struggles and feelings.

Transitional  Housing

  • Client safety is our #1 priority. We provide discrete transitional housing for women and their children in need of relocation.

  • The purpose of our transitional housing is to provide a safe space for DV Survivors and their families experiencing homelessness. RAHAMA will assist the individual in finding employment, education, financial assistance, and more permanent housing.

  • Confidentiality of the location is taken very seriously, as we want our women to feel secure while they focus on building a new life.

Education

  • We strive to provide education for all clients as a long-term step to self-sufficiency.

  • Our ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are offered at the beginner and advanced levels.

  • Our parenting classes are culturally-sensitive, helping to guide single mothers that are DV survivors and/or refugees. The classes can take place in the comfort of their homes or in group sessions with others to connect and uplift each other.

  • Our empowering peer-to-peer program offers a job opportunity where RAHAMA hires its very own clients.

  • We believe empowerment through education also includes taking care of one’s body, mind, and soul. We teach our women about health topics, financial independence, gardening, and more!
